What is the name of the broad, layered, and sorted sediment deposit formed by the runoff from a glacier?

thanks guys, im kinda confused. What is the name of the broad, layered, and sorted sediment deposit formed by the runoff from a glacier?
Hmmm... there are several things you may be refering to.

Till is the general term for sediment of glacial origin.

Moraines are the deposits formed on the edges of the glacier by runoff, though they are usually poorly sorted. There are many types depending on where it forms.

I think you might be referring to varves. Varves are the thin, alternating deposits fromed in glacial lakes. In the summer, the runoff causes light, coarse layers to deposit. In the winter, dark-colored very fine organic material and clays settle out as the water is frozen over. The alternating coarse and fine is called a varve. What is the name of the broad, layered, and sorted sediment deposit formed by the runoff from a glacier?
Glacial Till.
I have two names for you.

1. Glacier Silt

2. Glacier Flour

As the glacier pulverizes the surrounding rock, it carries along with it. Most is carried away from the area in the water runoff and is called Glacier Silt. Any amount left on the ground is called Glacier Flour.
