DVD DL (Double Layer)....are these disk double sided or one sided with double the memory of a DVD-R?

I mean is it 4.7 GB on each side (flip over) or is it 8.5 gb on the data side (so one sided)

and how much are they?

And do you know if PS2's can play them?DVD DL (Double Layer)....are these disk double sided or one sided with double the memory of a DVD-R?
They are single sided, they have two data layers (as the name suggests!)

Dual layer disks are basically two normal capacity DVD data layers - but the first layer can allow the reading laser to penetrate enough to read the sandwiched layer.

Dual layer discs are most often used for DVD movies, so the ps2 should be able to read the discs if the data is formatted correctly.

They are a good bit more expensive than standard capacity discs as they are more complex, but they are usually sold at something like 25 for UK拢15 for single-write discs, I'm not aware of re-writable versions and the dual layer discs often only write at 2.4 or 4x - I've seen some faster (8x or more) ones though, which I'd highly recommend you pick up.DVD DL (Double Layer)....are these disk double sided or one sided with double the memory of a DVD-R?
A DVD+R DL is a 1 sided disc with 2 layers of 4.7GBs, meaning after the DVD is full on the first layer (the upper most layer I think), the laser goes back to the middle (hub) of the disc and readjusts the laser to read/burn the lower layer

The makeup of a DL disc (the layers) are the following, starting with the label side

-Label

-Reflective Surface (kind of attached to the Label layer)

-Recording Layer 1

-Recording Layer 2

-Protective covering (to protect from minor scratches and smudges)
1) There are actually two data layers in a DL disk but you don't need to flip them over.

2) I buy them at 拢3.75 for 10 from eBuyer. (Obviously plus P%26amp;P, but I normally combine then with a larger order so the P%26amp;P is normally free)

3) Pass
yes they are one-side (it's actually 2 layers on one side. and Almost ALL dvd movies are DL and seeing as the ps2 plays them yes they are supported
