How do I cut layers into MY OWN hair?

My hair is pretty much exactly 4 inches all over (only 2-3 at the back)

I want to add layers, but I don't want my hair to be much shorter so I don't want to take much off.

Can comeone describe to me how to choppily layer my hair myself, without taking much off but still having it noticable?

Cheers. How do I cut layers into MY OWN hair?
Heii,

i suggest going to a hairdresser for best results but

if you HAVE to do it yourself, seperate your hair into even

layers. eg. 3 layers %26amp; tie three layers up. Undo the 2nd one and

cut a few cm off (5cm?) then undo the first layer that you tied up

and cut say 10 cm off.

cya xx

ps. plz answer mine

  • How do they put layers in your hair?

How do they put layers in ur hair, and how do u trim ur hair after? im askin cause all my friends say (well my guy friends dont care) my hairs to flat and i would look real good in layers. so yea jw.How do they put layers in your hair?
I don't know how long your hair is but sometimes layers can look really good. I have medium length hair with layers on the left side. I part my hair on the side and put my hair behind my right ear and wear my left side down and layered. It looks good, on me. I'll email you a pic if you want.

But your best bet is to go to www.google.com and click on photos/pictures in the upper left corner and then put in ';layered hair for______'; whatever length your hair is. And I recommend using the quotes for results closer to what you want. You could also put in long layers etc. And it will bring up pics of the hair styles you are looking for.

xxxHow do they put layers in your hair?
if ur hair is flat layers will make it look fuller and stylish. my hair is falt and i got layers and it looks great

    Hi,

I am a cosmetoligest...layers are created by holding the hair at either a 45 or 90 degree angle.they can be cut with either scissors or a razor...go to behindthechair.com
well they cut shorter parts in you hair, and then they just rim them later, its not that complicated

Ok ok how should I layer this sandwich?

There is meat, cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, mayonaise.

I was think of putting the mayonaise on first then cheese, then meat, then lettuce, then tomatoes.

but shouldn't the meat come before the cheese?

And shouldn't the lettuce go on last because it is the lightest, if the tomatoes go on top of the lettuce they might slide off. not to mention it would taste different.

What do I do?Ok ok how should I layer this sandwich?
The proper order is...... Bread, Mayo, Cheese, Meat, Tomato, then lettuce... It tastes best this way trust me I've experimented*****Ok ok how should I layer this sandwich?
    Are you flipping serious? Damn.

Just put the mayo on the bread both sides. Then lay down the meat on one side then the cheese then the lettuce and finally tomatoes. Then open your mouth. Then insert the sandwich in your mouth. Then bite.; Then chew. Repeat until you eat it all.

My shoes are untied, what do I do?

I am tired and it is midnight, what do I do?

My car is almost out of gas, what do I do?

I just got hit by a car and I'm bleeding, what do I do?
    bottom to top

bread, meat, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and on the top bread mayo. thats how i do it.
    mayo, tomato, lettuce, cheese, meat

    important decision lol
first mayo then meat, cheese, tomato and then lettuce
are you asking this question seriously?

How do tilted rock layers form?

I have tried to look this question up on so many search engines, but nothing I want ever comes up. I want to know what natural/tectonic force acts upon horizontal strata to tilt it.How do tilted rock layers form?
Sedimentary rock forms relatively flat. Youngest always on top of the oldest. Just like a stack of newspapers if you were to accumulate them everyday.

Folding from compressional stress is one. Rock is literally pushed together creating anticlines %26amp; synclines, upward folding %26amp; downward folding arches respectively.

Faults can also do this. This can be accomplished through compressional (pushed together) or tensional (pulled apart) stresses.

I am not too sure about this one but isostatic adjustment could possibly tilt rocks.

    Hope this helps.

:)How do tilted rock layers form?
they form from tectonic plates pushing together, making the ground rise and forming mountains.
As stated in the previous answers rocks layers start relatively flat. Compressional stress like that found at convergant plate boundaries cause the tilting, folding and even overturning of the layers. The angle that the layer is tilted is known as its dip.
    Earthquakes, flooding and continental drift.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tectonic_up鈥?/a>
Rock layers, called strata, are actually formed relatively flat when speaking about sedimentary rock (limestone, sandstone). A geologic event, such as tectonic plates pressing against one another or magma trying to push up though not breaking to the surface will cause the flat layers to bend, fold, or flip over giving it the tilted appearance.

    Information about:

Organisms living of the time the sedimentary rock was formed (from fossils).

Changes in a specific organism over time.

Type of climate during the formation of the rock.

Differences between successive layers indicate changes to the environment which have occurred over time.

How important are 3d layers in Adobe After Effects?

Im about to blow up on my teacher who doesn't seem to know a lot about after effects. every week, we must build something with 3d layers, like a cube or something. i get the importance, but i feel like hes using them in the wrong way... let me know what you think, or if im completely wrong. because for our final, i literally have to create a UFO made out of 3d solids! i feel like he wishes it was 3ds max or somethingHow important are 3d layers in Adobe After Effects?
3d layers in AE are used to add depth, and they are useful in having something like missile trials and meteor smoke tail, which could be made by using trapcode particular plugin ,in the same way they are used in stylish text movements in 3d for titles, they are useful in motion tracked 3d layers and of course they are used in making a simple geometry useful for small movements, like a text in a room lit by a AE light for titles which creates depth.

%26gt;%26gt;I suggest 3dS max or blender or maya for modelling UFO,and AE is not suitable,AE comes to play as name suggests in giving final touches of color correction so that it matches with the scene, and having smoke, and other effects, and helpful in inserting the png sequence from 3DS Max which is created after motion tracking the scene using Boujou, into the original footage.

The hole originally appeared at the south pole, over Antarctica.

The shape shifts and changes, however, because it is a gas hole, and so for a time it shifted as far north as Cape Horn, in Argentina, which is the southernmost point of South America.

Where can I get a free art program that uses layers and tablet pressure?

I want one that doesnt go lighter with pressure, but goes bigger and smaller depending on the pressure.

can open canvas do that?Where can I get a free art program that uses layers and tablet pressure?
The one I would recommend is InkScape, which is an open-source version of Illustrator. Despite being unstable at the most recent version being 0.45, the thing works GREAT. It also adheres to SVG standards, if you need to publish things on the Internet as scalable graphics. It will also work even without a tablet. Only the Calligraphy tool supports tablet pressure.

    http://inkscape.org/

Also, the GIMP,which is an open-source version of PhotoShop. Unlike PhotoShop, I find the GUI much easier to use, and they have many brushes and other tools that can do tablet pressure. It will also work if you don't have a tablet. The Ink tool can simulate a moving brush with varying thicknesses without tablet pressure.

    http://gimp.org/

SodiPodi will also work. Although I don't use it, this program was where InkScape comes from, and doesn't adhere to SVG standards.

How do I remove layers of rust from an old cast iron skillet quickly without hours of scrubbing?

Use a brillo pad with out the soap. Just go over it once or twice. Then coat it with crisco inside and out. Once you have done this you can place it in an open fire. For example: an outdoor open fire pit or even just a small brush pile. Allow the crisco to burn off completely. Repeat this until you are satisfied with the pan. I does work. Let cool wipe any excess oil off with dry papertowels...How do I remove layers of rust from an old cast iron skillet quickly without hours of scrubbing?
Wear thick rubber gloves, the kind for chemical spills. Using a brush, apply naval jelly, a pink gel which you can get at hardware or home improvement stores.

You should be able to easily scrub off the residue, and have a cast iron skillet rustless.

You do know rust is good for your blood, don't you? It has iron! Maybe you're better off just cooking with it. The chemical residue may be worse than the rust. Check with your doc. Besides, the by product might contaminate the grey water.
I sometimes use salt and a plastic scrubber or even dish cloth or sponge. Be sure to wet the skillet with water and have to keep the salt moist while scrubbing.
Take it in and get it sand blasted take 1or 2 minutes.
Every once in a while an iron skillet needs to be put in a fire. For example, if camping, and can build a good fire, set it in there. It will burn off all the crud. I wouldn't use a chemical to clean it, as it might soak up into the skillet. The fire thing is what my grandmother recommended and it does work. (granted if you have a fireplace, or are able to build a fire and make smores....) Smiles.

Which is the best haircut layer or step?

    1. Comb your dry hair, look at yourself in a mirror and decide what length your hair should be. (You may want to tie this to some physical landmark, such as chin-length, or down to your collarbone or whatever.) Note the length of the hair you want to take off.

    2. Assemble your equipment: A sharp set of scissors (if you don't have haircutting scissors, fabric scissors are excellent), a comb, shampoo and conditioner. You will also need to be in front of a mirror when you start cutting.

    3. Shampoo and condition your hair. Do not rinse out the conditioner--it makes it easier to comb your hair.

    4. Comb your hair, as straight as you can, and gather it at the very top of your head--the bit of your scalp that is uppermost when you stand up straight.

    * It may help to bend over while you do this.

    * Try to be precise about this--gather your hair in the middle of the top of your head, not too far forward or backward. Check your alignment in the mirror.

    5. Twist your gathered hair as tightly as you can into a spiral.

    6. Take your scissors and cut off the length of hair you noted in Step 1.

    7. Comb your hair again--straight up to the top of your head--and twist it again, as tightly as you can, in the opposite direction. Most of your hair should be of a uniform length from the top of your head (from the cut in the previous step) but take your scissors and snip off any stragglers.

    8. Rinse the conditioner out of your hair, dry it and style as usual.Which is the best haircut layer or step?

Whats can destroy the ozone layer? (give diffrent answerz plzz)?

    CFC Products-

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    ';CFC-free'; means specifically that the product does not contain or use chlorofluorocarbons and is therefore ';ozone safe.';

CFCs are listed as Class I (most harmful) stratospheric-ozone destroyers in Title VI of the United States Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Along with halons, carbon tetrachloride and 1,1,1-trichloroethane (methyl chloroform), these chlorine-based chemicals account for about 80 percent of ozone depletion.

CFCs have gotten the most publicity of all the ozone depletors. They are compounds comprised of carbon, fluorine, chlorine, and hydrogen. When CFCs were first developed in the 1930s by Du Pont, they were thought to be wonder chemicals because they were useful and nontoxic to humans. Only many decades later did we begin to learn how CFCs harm the environment.

By convection and diffusion, CFCs move upward through the atmosphere until they hit the ozone layer. When the reactive chlorine atoms of disintegrating CFCs collide with ozone (which is also unstable), a chlorine atom from the CFC steals an oxygen atom from the ozone molecule. Created in its place is a useless compound of one chlorine and one oxygen atom (chlorine monoxide) and a two-atom molecule of oxygen.

The oxygen atom of the chlorine monoxide molecule then starts searching for something to react with and bonds with the nearest oxygen atom, freeing the chlorine atom to find a new mate. By this constant change of dance partners, so to speak, a single chlorine atom can destroy 100,000 ozone molecules. Since this is happening a lot faster than Nature can replenish the ozone layer, sending a continuous stream of CFCs into our stratosphere is not a sustainable activity.

Twenty million tons of CFCs having who knows how many chlorine atoms have already been released into the air. Those released today won't reach the stratosphere for 10 to 15 years. If we completely stop using ozone-depleting chemicals today, it will still take until the end of the next century to heal the ozone layer.

Many products that have removed CFCs have replaced them with hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs or HFCs), a Class II chemical which causes less damage to the ozone layer, but still poses a threat. HCFCs have one-twentieth of the chlorine and more hydrogen, so they break down more easily in the atmosphere's lower levels. But organizations such as the Environmental Defense Fund and the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research oppose the use of HCFCs, saying that much of their chlorine still reaches the ozone layer.

Here in the United States, the manufacture and use of CFCs was prohibited for use in household aerosols in 1978, shortly after their ozone-depleting qualities were discovered. They are still allowed, however, in many other products. By enacting the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990, the United States became the first nation to actually legislate the complete phase-out of CFCs.

There are no federal regulations regarding the use of buzzwords describing ozone safety, however, the Federal Trade Commission has stated that if a product makes an unqualified claim that it ';Contains no CFCs'; or is ';CFC-free,'; it should also not contain HCFCs, since these claims may imply to reasonable consumers that the product will not harm the ozone layer at all.

Since 15 May 1993, warning labels have been required by the EPA, in accordance with the 1990 Clean Air Act, on products that contain or are manufactured with Class I substances, including CFCs. Any product that uses CFCs must have a label conspicuously placed on the product that says it contains or is made with ';a substance that harms public health and environment by destroying ozone in the upper atmosphere.'; The EPA hopes that the warning labels will give manufacturers an incentive to make and sell products that do not use Class I ozone-depletors.

The EPA believes that substitutes can eventually be found for all products currently using Class I chemicals, and has imposed a ban on their production by the end of 1995 (they may still be present, however, in products manufactured prior to this date). Some will be replaced by the Class II HCFCs, but as soon as alternatives are available for HCFCs, there will be warning labels to discourage the use of these as well.

According to the United Nations Environment Programme, there has been a 40 percent drop in CFC consumption since 1986, a reduction beyond that required by the Clean Air Act and the Montreal Protocol. While this is an immense improvement, we still have a long way to go to get to zero ozone-depleting substances.Whats can destroy the ozone layer? (give diffrent answerz plzz)?
Human activity is by far the most prevalent and destructive source of ozone depletion, while threatening volcanic eruptions are less common. Human activity, such as the release of various compounds containing chlorine or bromine, accounts for approximately 75 to 85 percent of ozone damage.

Can someone find me a picture of hair with 3 layers, the middle one being a different color?

It doesn't have to be black and blonde. Can someone find me a picture of hair with 3 layers, the middle one being a different color?
it all depends on your hair cut and they way they do the color placement but it will have a peek-a-boo effect like this:

http://krystalstylist.com/camil.jpgCan someone find me a picture of hair with 3 layers, the middle one being a different color?
Okay - just so you know (and I am not trying to be mean) there is no such thing as having 3 layers in your hair. Unless you were to cut straight across at 3 different points on your head with no connection to your layers (which would be a horrible horrible haircut). However, you can still achieve the look you are going for with the color by having great layers put in. The layers would allow the blonde to pop out of the middle which would look great. I would suggest having big highlight pieces put through the middle to give it more movement. Best of luck!!!

Breathing exercises can keep your lungs in shape even

if you are bed riden. and it helps chest pain go

away.. your lungs are partners in crime with your

heart ,, deep breaths to keep the lower lungs

healthy.. After heart surgery they give you a

breathing gaget that makes you blow hard and fast...

thats fine, but its more important to do the slow deep

breaths, opening up your lungs and keeping your

breathing muscles in shape.. After surgery they will

have you hold a pillow over your chest to turn in bed

or move,, also you should inhale and hold to support

the sternum when turning in bed .. it stops the

compresion of the sternum , you just should not sleep

on your side after surgery for a few weeks just up the

angle of the bed for different positions. Is there a heart disease that kills your heart in layers?
You would have to give a better description than that. I mean hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can turn large portions of the heart into expanding layers that can cause massive health problems. The only treatment is to kill some of the hearth tissue to keep it in the correct shape.

And there are a whole host of other less common, while keeping in mind the above disease is not common, diseases that could be described in that fashion.
Irreversible disease does sound like a possible cardiomyopathy.

  • What does ';welcome to my layer'; mean?

What is the meaning of a layer in the above context? So far, I believe it is a romantic synonym for secret hub or place. This is probably because i've heard it in a movie ';welcome to the layer-cake son'; Am I right, can someone please expand on what a layer is? Thanks! What does ';welcome to my layer'; mean?
It is 'Welcome to my lair'.

A lair is a hideout/den/cave.What does ';welcome to my layer'; mean?
Hmmm....are you sure it's ';layer';, because the context given is more related to the word ';lair';, which literally means a place where a wild animal hides and sleeps!
Try changing the spelling to - lair, as in the den of a wild beast or a place of entrapment.
    it means a house room or something similar i often use it with my friends to mean ';welcome to my house';

I had a bug bite and i was scratching it and i didn't know this but i scratched a layer of skin off.?

How can i heel this problem FAST???I had a bug bite and i was scratching it and i didn't know this but i scratched a layer of skin off.?
    There's no fast remedy.

You just have to wait for it to heal.

There are some creams that can stop it from being so tender.

I've done that before, and it is sore to the touch, but if I leave it alone, it heals.

Is it possible to harness the energy of the magnetic layers of the Earth to run electric motors?

No really in present day %26amp; apart from a few experiments...nothing in practical use...in the future - very likely...

Here's something u may like to read in relation to a similar topic. A scientist by the name Nikola Tesla which I'm sure you'll find very interesting. Have a look on the net or the book-the man who invented the 20th century. Is it possible to harness the energy of the magnetic layers of the Earth to run electric motors?
I think that it might be possible, but you would have to overcome perpetual motion first. The reason is that the magnetic force is so small, compared with the friction in an electric motor or generator that it would not turn. Which are at the most only 78% efficient. Is it possible to harness the energy of the magnetic layers of the Earth to run electric motors?
Technically a compus needle moves because of the earth's magnetic field. You might be able to build some contraption that can get the tiniest amount of energy out of the movement of a compus needle but what's the point? The magnetic field is so weak, there's no use trying to get any kind of energy out of it.
i dont think so, but u can try it
possible... as long as you can tapped the energy and have the technology to convert them to run electric motors...
Sure, they've run this experiment with the Shuttle, using a tether suspended from the Shuttle.

It's much easier to go to a stylist and get it done. You can get a cut for as little as $12 bucks if you look around.Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can add layers to my hair?
Well I have layers in my hair and they frame my face. I have a round face so it works well. I also have side bangs. Not to short tho. I don't know about doing them yourself, but go online and check with your face shape and it will give you some helpful hints.
    Do not do it yourself!

I like layers that are kind of 'upcut' I guess you might say... where they make the scissors go upwards, thins out your hair and makes it easy to style without making the layers TOO obvious.
    choppy i think its cuter

too many people have regular layers

How early can you make a layered cake?

I'm making a 4 layered cake for a shower on saturday, and its thursday. I was going to make it tomorrow but now have so much stuff to do! Would the cake be ok if i made it today, but put the butter cream icing on tomorrow? How early can you make a layered cake?
It's perfectly fine to make the cake a few days in advance. You will simply need to wrap up the cake and store it in the fridge since you'll be frosting it tomorrow. How early can you make a layered cake?
You can make the cake today It will be fine just make sure that you cover it well and keep in in the fridge making sure that you don't have onions or fish in the fridge otherwise the cake will absorb the smell of them. I keep my cakes under a dome or in a box that you can purchase from the bakery or Michael's.
Up to a couple weeks ahead heres how.

Spray and line the pan with parchment paper. Bake as usual, When done put hot cake still in the pan directly in the freezer. Do not let cool or remove from the pan. Because the moisture will lock into the cake as it freezes. Then early the day of or day before take the frozen cakes from pans they will lift right out. Ice them while they are frozen so the moisture will be locked in as it thaw underneath the icing. Give it time to thaw leat 1/2 day.

If you make them today put them in the freezer right away.
Perfect plan. I agree, make the cake today, frost tomorrow. Bakeries do that all the time. That way, in the event, something were to happen you have time on your side to make any adjustments. Have fun.
I think it would be fine to make today.
I would start no earlier than 4 am. Have a nice day.
Me, it will be fine. For god's sake stop stressing, the cake will be great, the shower will be a success.

    Should i layer my hair?

i have thick shoulder length hair. should i layer it? is long layers or short layers better for thick hair? should i get sideswept bangs?Should i layer my hair?
i have the same hair as you and i got long layers and angled layers. The bangs it usually depends on the persons face you should ask your stylist if it would look good with u and she can also tell you what type of layers are good for you hair.Should i layer my hair?
layered hair always looks cuter, especially if your doing something as easy as a ponytail. personally, i was scared to get the bangs but i'm in love with them! they look super cute. my hair is just like yours and i've got both the layers and the bangs and i guess it works. i've gotten lots of compliments on it. you'll look even cuter when its done
layering adds depth and shape to your hair. sideswept bangs are cute and better than just pulling your hair to across your face and pinning it.

    go for it.
    yes to all
Yes girl get the layer cut,it's my favorite style! Side sweep bangs are cute for the cooler months. Don't wanna have them on your forehead with those hot sticky weathers
I have thick black semi straight long hair and in the past have had it layered in both long and short layers, the short ones gave me a Rod Steward look, so the next time I opted for longer ones, the weight of the layers kept my hair a little more manageable, more of a tousled look.

The bangs I guess depends on your face shape, if you like them go for it.
layers from your chin to shoulder would look good..

bangs if youre willing to do it.
layers are really nice, it gives your hair some body. If you have like really thick curly hair it probably wouldn't look so great .. if your hair is thick and straight or long and curly, it should look great!!

    What are layer chickens?

what are the differences between broilers and layers? What are layer chickens?
Broilers are bred for meat (meaning they will have more meat on their bones). Layers are bred to be prolific layers. There are also dual purpose birds that people (me for instance) keep for both. What are layer chickens?
The difference lies in the basic role of a particular breed ,it's aim in life so to speak.Broilers are meat birds ,reared usually in large numbers on commercial farms for table purposes .Layers on the other hand are reared for producing eggs, they are breeds that are heavy egg layers,in farms the eggs produced are table eggs, meaning they are unfertilied, on the other hand eggs meant for raising chicks need to have roosters housed with the hens.

Backyard hens usually reared to lay fresh eggs for household use commonly fulfill both purposes, egg production as well as meat, these are called dual purpose breeds.
broilers are chickens that are bred especially for their meat, they are the bigger, hardier chickens, but layers are the ones that are bred for their particularly good egg laying ability

Some times when I wax remove the top layer of my skin. What am I doing wrong? I do apply powder first.?

too thick of layer of wax. when its too thick that happensSome times when I wax remove the top layer of my skin. What am I doing wrong? I do apply powder first.?
not necessarily becasue you've got too much wax on. Waxing should not be performed if you have particularly sensitive skin because waxing pulls off a couple of layers of skin (along with hair) when it is removed and can cause tenderness and swelling. In addition, some medications will cause the skin to react badly to waxing.

Also, refrain from taking a shower or bath before the treatment because soaking the hair will soften it, allowing it to break more easily and making waxing less effective. Some times when I wax remove the top layer of my skin. What am I doing wrong? I do apply powder first.?
Can be too much wax, sensitive skin, etc.

Best lesson I ever learned as a licensed pro: 1. cleanse %26amp; exfoliate area, 2. prepare with a powder to absorb excess body oils (which can cause the wax to pull away skin), 3. apply wax in direction of hair growth in a uniform thickness, 4. remove wax quickly in the direction opposite hairgrowth.

The powder is sold at local beauty supply stores such as Sally Beaty Supply (www.sallybeauty.com). I use a powder with lavendar to soothe the skin after the waxing process. It has made a dramatic difference with some of my clients; less irritation and reddness, no more waxing away the top layer of flesh on sensitive clients.

Worth a try, don't you think?!

    Best of luck!
Ouch! If you are using hot wax, make sure it's not too hot. I use Surgi-Wax Brazilian Microwave Hair Remover Kit - I use it for any part of my body/face. It includes this ';pre-epilation oil';. You put it on before you wax. At first I was skeptical about putting on oil before waxing, thinking that the wax wouldn't adhere to any of the hair with oil on it...but actually, I guess they have a special formula in which it makes the wax adhere to the hair but not to the skin. It really works! I think the oil really works better with body hair (legs, bikini). For finer, shorter facial hair, I use baby powder/cornstarch.

    Best of luck!
If the wax is too hot, it can remove the skin along with the hair.

  • Is there a way in AutoCAD to restore xref layers to their original properties?

I don't want to have to detach the xref and reload. Is there a way to this individaully? Is there a way in AutoCAD to restore xref layers to their original properties?
When you attach a drawing as an xref, you link that referenced drawing to the current drawing; any changes to the referenced drawing are displayed in the current drawing when it is opened or reloaded.

A drawing can be attached as an xref to multiple drawings at the same time. Conversely, multiple drawings can be attached as referenced drawings to a single drawing.

    Tools for Attaching Xrefs

You can use several methods to attach an xref:

Click Insert menu External References. At the Command prompt, enter externalreferences.

    Use the EXTERNALREFERENCES command.

Click Insert menu DWG Reference. At the Command prompt, enter xattach.

    Use the XATTACH command.

You can also use DesignCenter™ to attach xrefs to a drawing. Use DesignCenter for simple attachments, previewing drawing references and their descriptions, and quick placement by dragging.

You can attach an xref by dragging it from DesignCenter or by clicking Attach as Xref on the shortcut menu.

The saved path used to locate the xref can be a full path, a relative (partially specified) path, or no path.

If an xref contains any variable block attributes, they are ignored.

NoteWhen using the External References palette, it is recommended that you turn on the Auto-hide feature or anchor the palette. The palette will then hide automatically when you specify the insertion point of the external reference.

    Notification of Attached Xrefs

An xref icon is displayed in the lower-right corner of the application window (the status bar tray) when xrefs are attached to the drawing.

When one or more xrefs are not found or if any of the xrefs need reloading, an exclamation point is added to the Xref icon. If you click the Xref icon, the External References palette is displayed.

    Visibility, Color, and Linetype

You can control the visibility, color, linetype, and other properties of an xref's layers and make these changes temporary or permanent. If the VISRETAIN system variable is set to 0, these changes apply only to the current drawing session. They are discarded when you end the drawing session, or when you reload or detach the xref.

    Xref Clipping Boundaries

Drawings can include xrefs that are clipped. If you want to see the clipping boundary, you can turn on the XCLIPFRAME system variable.

    Attachments from Educational Products

If you open, insert, or attach an xref from an Autodesk Educational Product, the drawings you plot contain the following banner: “PRODUCED BY AN AUTODESK EDUCATIONAL PRODUCT.”Is there a way in AutoCAD to restore xref layers to their original properties?
    Unload Xref.

    Set Visretain 0

    Reload Xref.

    Set Visretain 1

The problem with this procedure is that all the frozen/clip/etc of the xref will restore to its default setup. Report Abuse

I want to cut my hair into choppy emo layers how do I make my hair have more volume like emos?

I dont want my hair with a lot of volume but with a little.

    I want it just right.

How can I do that?I want to cut my hair into choppy emo layers how do I make my hair have more volume like emos?
Firstly cut your hair into the choppy layers. Then dry it to make it volumous. to do this take a section of your hair and use a rounded brush [i don't know the technical term for the brush but its cylindrical in shape with bristles all around and a handle] under the sectioned hair. Put your hairdryer on top of the sectioned hair and pulling the brush upwards from your head and to the side, take the hairdryer along with it until you get to the bottom. Do this all the way around. Finally use the cool setting on your hairdryer, hold it so it is below your hair and point it upwards and dry. The cool setting makes your hair keep its shape for some reason. Smooth your hair down a bit and then its done. I hope that helps. xxI want to cut my hair into choppy emo layers how do I make my hair have more volume like emos?

That should give you the ';inspiration';.

If you scan in a previously inked drawing/comic, can you color it on Photoshop by using layers?

I'm new to Digital artwork, and am trying to color an inked character sketch. I've scanned it in, and was hoping to use the layering process to color it but it doesn't seem to be working. Am I doing something wrong, or it this impossible? If you scan in a previously inked drawing/comic, can you color it on Photoshop by using layers?
You're not doing something wrong, but here is a best way to get the lineart colored.

    1. Open your drawing in photoshop.

    2. Go to the 'channels' tab in the layers box.

    3. Click on the small circle named 'channel selection'.

    4. Then click on the little square for the 'layer mask'

    5. Then click on the Alpha 1box.

    6. Then go to select%26gt;inverse on the tool bar. It should have selected the lineart.

    7. Go to the 'layers' box and create new layer.

    8. Click on the 'eyeball' next to the background layer, where the lineart was. It should still be clicked on the 'layer 1' box.

    9. Make sure the foreground color( on the left of the screen) is black. Then go to edit%26gt;fill and there you go!

Lock the lineart layer and then select all the background layer and color it white.

Then you just create new layers underneath the lineart layer and begin coloring! Hope that helped! If you scan in a previously inked drawing/comic, can you color it on Photoshop by using layers?
it is and it will work but make sure you can see the layers which will make a big difference
