Why does sour cream curdle when baked in a layered gratin?

I used in a sweet potato gratin. Layers were sweet potatoe, sour cream, spices sprinkled on cream, then cheese layer. You do this for 3 layers and bake at 400 for 40 minutes. It was tasty, but sour cream curdled and looked terrible. How could this be done without this problem? Thanks. Why does sour cream curdle when baked in a layered gratin?
The curdling or splitting of fat from whey happens due to the heat, my suggestion is to use a higher fat sour cream and make a bechamel sauce white cream sauces as base 1oz. butter, 2oz. flour, 3oz. milk, fold in your sour cream and the bechamel sauce will stabilize your cream and stay solid in your gratinWhy does sour cream curdle when baked in a layered gratin?
I agree

What are the layers of makeup that you put on?

i know theres concealer and foundation and stuff but whats the order you put it on?What are the layers of makeup that you put on?
moisturize, foundation, concealer, powder or pressed powder, blush or bronzer, eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, lip liner, lip stick, lip gloss. All in that order. Good luck. What are the layers of makeup that you put on?
Starting off with a clean skin the first thing to usually go on is a primer though not that many people use primer on a daily basis. Then liquid foundation and/or concealer. Next powder foundation and usually last a finnishing powder, which is usually VERY light in both colour and weight. If you want you can go on to apply blush, bronzer and luminizer.
well basically this is my every day routine:

*wash face and brush teeth(most important)=]

*add moisturizer(nivea)

*foundation

*concealer

*mascara

*eyeliner

*eyebrows

*lip gloss/lip balm

hopefully that first part of 'foundation THEN concealer' helped because the foundations going to give you enough coverage as it is, and if theres any SPOT u feel is still noticeable you want to cover up then u apply concealer.=]
well first i use a thing to make my pores close. then i use olay moisturizer, then a skin color foundation, then i use a lighter one under my eyes and on eye lids. Then finally i use a light concealer for hard zits. AND FINnally i put a powder to even out all the colors.

after all that i do my eye and other makeup.

The putting makeup on lids, makes it so liner and shadow dont smudge!
According to Beauty: The New Basics by Rona Berg, if you apply your makeup in the following order, it will blend better and is less likely to smudge. Of course, you can skip as many steps as you like.

1. Foundation

2. Concealer

3. Eyeshadow

4. Eyeliner

5. Mascara

6. Blush

7. Powder

8. Lipstick or Gloss

Good luck! :)
1.moisturizer

2.face primer

3.green concealer

4.eyeshadow primer

5.concealer for dark circles

6.foundation

7.finishing powder

8.pencil eyeliner

9.liquid eyeliner

10.mascara

11.eyeshadow

12.blush

13.lip primer

14.lip plumper

15.lip stick

16.lip liner

17.lip gloss
on a clean and ready face...

1. concealer ( the creamy stuff)

2. let it dry

3. foundation ( powder)

4. bronser only on the cheeck bones dont over do it.
toner, moisturizer, concealer, foundation, and then bronzer.

And then the rest of my makeup.
I know many makeup artists that put on foundaton first then concealer on blemishes, under eye etc. then face powder to help absorb shine.

  • How to get layers to stand out more?

So yesterday I got my hair re-layered in the front from below my eye down, and my hair dresser had used a straightener to get them to stand out more, so I tried doing that this morning and I got my right side to work out perfectly, but my left side is kind of curling in instead of the layers standing out more.

Is there a way that I can get the left side of my hair to stand out more? How to get layers to stand out more?
get more volume in your hair, by putting in mouse or a very dry hairspray. How to get layers to stand out more?
clip that part up...it works wonders(witha fancy or cute clip)

How long must my hair be to have layers?

Cause the last time i went to the my hairdresser, wanting layers, she told me it was too short and gave me a blunt cut.

it's below my shoulders a little.

so how long must i grow till to have layers? How long must my hair be to have layers?
you can get layers in your hair no matter how ong your hair is unless its shavedHow long must my hair be to have layers?
My friend had a cropped, pixie like haircut %26amp; the hairdresser gave her some choppy layers in it...I really don't know what your hairdresser was talking about!...but you say your hair is a little below your shoulders so it's definitely long enough to have layers in it now as I have layers in my hair %26amp; its shoulder length!
Um your hair can be above your shoulders and STILL have layers.

It just depends on how long you want them. Like I have long hair so I get long layers. If you have shorter hair get layers that match you hair length. Just keep the number of layers to a minimum though because you don't want it to look like you have super thin hair.
oh you can get it layered now, doesn't really matter the length. Mine is at my shoulders, as long as you look good in it.
as long as it reaches your shoulders i think it shlould be fine. i think that was how long mine was when i got layers 4 the first time.
it has to be a little longer than that

good luck! What is backcombing and how short should my layers be for the ';Scene'; hair and liquid eyeliner help
back combing is kind of like teasing your hair. you take the back portion of your hair at the crown, pull it foward or up and tease it down with a comb or hairpick, then smooth it backwards. It would help if you have shorter layers on the top or back of your hair. I hate liquid eyeliner. I won't even use it, but revlon makes a couple of really good pencil eyeliners that are soft so try that. Or you could try one of those thick eyeshadow pencils in black. they make a thick line, go on easy. Personally, the whole back combing and overabundance of eyeliner is kind of on the waning side of fashion. I would consider doing something else totally different. By the time you get the hang of back combing and eyeliner, it'll be out of style. Look at some current foreign fashion mags for inspiration. The psuedo emopunk hair is kind of lame. I see a lot of hip kids in their 20s and 30s doing the old fashioned styles from the 40's on up which are way sleeker and . The rock hair that i think you're going for is kind of an 80s thing and if you pay attention to trends, some other decade will soon be popular, most likely the 90s (i know, totally weird, but i am seeing more flannel and combat boots than usual). don't go to so much trouble to do your hair, honestly, it makes you look self absorbed. just take the natural beauty of your hair and run with it. go to the ukhairdressers site for ideas.
backcombing: run the comb or brush from the tip to the root of the hair instead of the normal root to tip

Liquid eyeliner tip: pull your upper eyelid towards yor ear and apply, release when done
backcomming is teasing your hair instend of your combing root to tip you do tip to root section your hair and hold it up and comb down wards and for eyeliner: i really dont like liquid i use pencil but try pencil i really dont now how to use liqiuid sorry %26lt;333
For the eyeliner, try using a magnifying mirror so you can see better what you're doing. Some people hold the outside edge of the eye taut to help make it easier to get it even. Pencils are easier than liquid, thought.
From I what I see it's fine.I guess u would me scene I do use liquid eyeliner(i hate) I use it sometimes u just have to try and try again it took me the whole of last summer to get it but if u want tips I will give them too just email me.as for backcombing it's just another word for teasing this is how I tease my hair:

A good way to get lift up on top of your hair without back-combing, is to lift up sections of your hair and spray a good hold hairspray to the root underneath, immediatley after you spray use the blowdrier to dry the hairspray quickly and you will have great lift with out getting your hair all knotty, hairspray is the key to getting lift at the top

How many layers of roofing allowable in Az. on mobile homes prior to removal.?

I've had two contractor quotes for removal and replacement of my mobile home roof. One states Az. law requires removal of old roof with only one layer while the other quotes Az. law allows two layers of roofing. This makes a difference in the over all costs. Please advise. Thank You.How many layers of roofing allowable in Az. on mobile homes prior to removal.?
according to the spec's of the maker of the shingles, we can only put one layer over another one time. this is owens corning and elk and all other major brands we use here in NC. call ur local building inspector and i know that he will tell u '; what ever the manufacture suggest or say to install'; will be his answer.

ask both of the roofing contractors to show u in the book what is correct.
